About Scott Schubert
Vital Roots was founded by Scott Schubert, a nonprofit executive with decades of experience leading complex organizations through transformational growth and change.
As former CEO of Metropolitan Development Council in Tacoma, Washington, Scott oversaw a multi-million-dollar organization serving thousands of individuals annually across housing, behavioral health, education, workforce development, energy assistance, and supportive services. Under his leadership, the organization achieved financial stability, expanded programs, secured millions in public and private investment, and strengthened partnerships across the region.
Scott's expertise spans strategic planning, organizational development, coalition building, grant strategy, community needs assessments, and systems transformation. His work has supported the development of hundreds of units of affordable housing, expanded access to critical services, and informed policy changes that improved outcomes for vulnerable populations.
